4.4.1992 Berlin - Buch. Due to track work only 1 track to the next station was available. 4 BR 220 (the 4th is hidden behind the 3rd from left) waited for 232 286-5 on the right to clear the track. Since freight traffic decreased enormous after the unification, empty engines were all over. The cars behind the 2nd 220 were actually storaged there for month so that overtaking only in one direction was possible. The 220 would sold or wrecked soon while the 232 got some tuning and works untill today. I took that pic just for fun and did not have the historical aspect in mind at that time. Unfortunately. |
